Very bad service from your gal at this branch. I bought a Chiffon panda cake @ $20 and asking for a knife, the gal told me I need to pay for the knife. I am asking her I bought a cake , Chiffon cake . Without knife to cut how are U expecting me to eat. End up she throws me a knife into my carrier bag. It is a terrible experience that I encounter today.

This one is about the branch at clementi mall.
It is s good to talk to customers. As I was looking at a birthday cake, the auntie asked me for the age of my mum so she could allocate candles. That was alright.
But when she insisted on knowing my age and pressed me twice for an answer which I found inappropriate. So I did not respond. She got rather annoyed and passed me the cake. And mentioned I took it the wrong way.
I think Bengawan Solo should train this auntie not to be so nosy. I am here to buy a cake, not to answer your staff's kay poh questions just because she demand so. It is quite typical of people like that to not draw a line and overstep boundaries.
The cake was nice though.

I visited Bengawan Solo Clementi to purchase a chiffon Pandan cake for my godfather. Despite arriving at 9:26 pm, well within the stated closing time of 10 pm, the staff informed me that they had already closed. After pointing out their advertised operating hours, they reluctantly sold me the cake but insisted on cash payment only as the cashier was closed, and we didn’t have our wallets with us. We ended up using ShopBack. This lack of flexibility and adherence to arbitrary rules left a sour taste in my mouth. By 9:34pm, we left with the cake, feeling dissatisfied, only to witness the staff immediately closing the shutters behind us, despite other potential customers waiting to enter. This experience was disappointing and reflects poorly on the customer service standards of Bengawan Solo Clementi.

The staff here are enough to sour the cakes they sell by their poor attitude. Would it be their poor language skills or are they on lower rates of pay because of their ineptitude?

The lady staff attitude needs to be more courteous and not show attitude to customers when serving.

Don’t believe their hours on Google. They say they need start closing accounts by 930pm.

Bought a box of varied kueh. The one with glutinous rice was disappointing as the rice is hard and not fully cooked. Pls do better quality control. Not sure if I'll buy again.

Absolutely love their kueh lapis, especially the ones with prunes inside. The kueh salad is also really good!
